CCA attends Mexican Cattlemen’s National Meeting

Tyler Fulton, Vice President of the Canadian Cattle Association (CCA) and CCA staff Daniela Lombardo attended the National Confederation of Livestock Organizations of Mexico (CNOG) annual meeting in Chihuahua, Mexico, from May 23 to 25, 2023. This was the first time since the pandemic that CCA has participated in CNOG’s annual meeting. The CCA team was welcomed with hospitality and warmth by the Mexican cattlemen.

During the visit, CNOG President Homero Garcia de la Llata hosted a trilateral meeting with the United States National Cattlemen Beef Association (NCBA) and CCA. The meeting advanced discussions in the areas of international trade and animal health. The governor of Chihuahua also held a banquet in honour of the cattle industry and provided the opportunity for a meeting with the CCA team. The Chihuahua Cattlemen Organization leadership team also hosted a tour of their headquarters and local feedlot for the export of live cattle. Overall, the visit strengthened the relationships between our organizations and provided an opportunity for NCBA and CCA to learn more about the challenges and opportunities in the Mexican cattle industry. CCA made the invitation to NCBA and CNOG to attend the Canadian Beef Industry Conference (CBIC) where CCA will host a trilateral meeting to continue important discussions in areas of cooperation.
