American Farm Bureau Annual Conference 2024

The American Farm Bureau’s (AFB) Annual Convention took place January 19-24 in Salt Lake City, Utah. CCA's International & Food Policy Manager, Daniela Lombardo, attended the conference as part of CCA’s US advocacy strategy. The AFB is one of the largest agricultural organizations in the US representing nearly 6-million-member families. At the Canadian reception, CCA met with the Vice President of AFB, Scott VanderWal and discussed Canadian beef producers concerns with the “Product of USA” proposed label that will affect the North American beef supply chain.

CCA also participated in the trade show alongside the Government of Canada and had conversations about trade and beef supply chains with US beef producers. The Canadian booth at the trade show contained information on the importance of our integrated supply chains and our growing agricultural trade between the US and Canada. CCA also met with Sylvain Fabi, Consul General of Canada in Denver. The Conference also offered policy updates from the upcoming US elections, the Farm Bill and legislation affecting American farmers.
