Canadian Cattle Youth Council AGM 2026

The Canadian Cattle Youth Council was happy to be in Winnipeg, Manitoba with the Canadian Cattle Association for the Canadian Beef Industry Conference. The council had a great turnout for their Annual General Meeting on Tuesday, August 18. 

To kick off their meeting, Andrea Brockelbank spoke to the group about some of the current key priorities in the Canadian beef industry and how they affect producers. Topics included CCA restructuring, traceability, trade and succession planning.  

Results of the Youth Council executive election and incoming delegates were announced. They are happy to welcome Judson Christopherson (SK) as President and Carling Matejka (AB) as Vice President for the upcoming year. Thank you to outgoing President Brayden Schmidt (AB) and outgoing Vice-President Patrick Sullivan (QB) for their time on the executive this past year.

A special thank you to the outgoing delegates for their contributions to the Council. This includes CRSB Delegate Laura Buss (AB), Manitoba Delegate Marc Vachon, Ontario Delegate Emily Bromley, and Quebec Delegate Patrick Sullivan.

We are excited for the year ahead with our Youth Council!
