Canada’s national beef industry conference is going to look different in 2020, as the entire industry adjusts to these unprecedented times. For the fifth anniversary of the Canadian Beef Industry Conference (CBIC), we will be launching a virtual conference as we focus amidst the unknowns on “Rising to the Challenge”. Thanks to our presenting sponsor McDonald’s and our other great partners, for the first time this event will be offered FREE to the Canadian beef industry. This one-of-a-kind industry event will be held August 11-13, 2020 and you can register on our website at canadianbeefindustryconference.com or directly here.
We are offering a condensed program for 2020, but with variety of topics, panels and keynote addresses. Our keynote, Professor David Hughes (aka Dr. Food), will give us a realistic global perspective of the food industry while Amanda Radke, a South Dakota rancher and advocate, will invigorate us to continue the fight to promote, innovate and further unite our industry.
“Although it would have been easier to have paused CBIC until 2021, we knew this year it was even more important than before to connect all sectors of the national chain together,” says CBIC Executive Director, Allana Minchau. “Even though it is not in the traditional format, we are excited to be able to offer a virtual event covering hot topics and challenges that the industry is currently facing and how to rise above these challenges. Please join us in August to face this challenge together!”
Our live sessions (three per day) will run from August 11-13 and will give you an opportunity to ask questions and gain further insight from all speakers and panelists. On top of the live sessions, CBIC will also be releasing additional videos and podcasts for you to access on research, industry updates, and more! If you are unable to attend live but would still like a copy of the recording, please still register to ensure you have access.
Those interested are encouraged to watch www.canadianbeefindustryconference.com and to follow the CBIC on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook for updates.
The conference is hosted as a joint collaboration by the Beef Cattle Research Council (BCRC), Canada Beef, the Canadian Beef Breeds Council (CBBC) Canadian Cattlemen’s Association (CCA), and the National Cattle Feeders' Association (NCFA).
