CCA Hosts Annual Advocacy BBQ on Parliament Hill

The Canadian Cattle Association had a record turnout for its Fall BBQ, hosted in the East Block Courtyard on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on September 18, 2024.  CCA Board, Directors and staff welcomed Ministers, Members of Parliament, Senators, staffers and other key stakeholders back to Ottawa for the fall session.

A local catering company served 450 delicious beef brisket sandwiches and bowls, made with Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB) certified Canadian beef. This encouraging turnout helps CCA continue to build vital relationships with Parliamentarians as the organization continues to advocate for beef producers across Canada.

The BBQ was a great success and kick off to CCA’s fall advocacy engagement with Parliamentarians. Senators and Members of Parliament representing all parties were in attendance.

Provincial beef representatives included:

Alberta: Sheila Hillmer, Graham Overguard

Saskatchewan: Lynn Grant

Manitoba: Mike Duguid, Tyler Fulton, Matthew Atkinson

Ontario: Craig McLaughlin, Danika Meyer - Youth Council member-at-large

Quebec: Kirk Jackson, Sylvain Bourque

New Brunswick: Nathan Phinney
