The political vagaries of a minority government are creating a major risk for Canada’s reputation as a trading nation. Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet told journalists last week that Bill C-282, a Bloc private member’s bill now being studied by the Senate, is “a bargaining chip” Prime Minister Justin Trudeau can use to purchase the Bloc’s support in upcoming confidence votes.
