The Canadian Cattle Association (CCA) will be featured in an upcoming livestock webinar through the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) highlighting youth. This session on Tuesday, April 29 forms part of the FAO Sustainable Livestock Transformation Webinar Series, in the lead-up to the 2025 FAO Global Conference on Sustainable Livestock Transformation.
Speaking will be CCA Policy, Programs and Engagement Manager, Jessica Radau, to highlight CCA’s youth programming of the Canadian Cattle Young Leaders Program and Canadian Cattle Youth Council. Joined by Beef Cattle Research Council, Research and Innovation Coordinator, Sydney Fortier, to speak to her involvement as a North American representative of the Global Agenda for Sustainable Livestock Youth Advisory Group.
This webinar presents a valuable opportunity for the CCA to highlight our leadership in youth development and livestock sustainability on a global stage. The CCA actively engages and monitors the FAO’s work on livestock to stay informed of international recommendations and reports that may influence policies at the national level.
The inaugural webinar, held in March, focused on technological innovation for sustainable livestock transformation. It attracted over 500 registrations and was very well received. Building on that success, the second webinar will explore youth-led and community-driven approaches that are shaping the future of sustainable livestock systems.
