To help reduce delays in the processing of your import certificate, please ensure that your producer number is included. Many applications are submitted without this identification number which causes delays.
Your producer number is provided by the Canadian Cattle Identification Agency (CCIA). It begins with the letter “A”, followed by a series of numbers.
If you don’t know your producer number, you can obtain it by contacting the CCIA.
There are three ways to contact the CCIA with your request:
Phone: 1-877-909-2333 between 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. MDT.
Website (Home - Canadian Cattle Identification Agency) - Click Buy Tags – the Live Chat Agent can help find your number.
Email info@canadaid.ca
When planning for your import, please anticipate delays. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) service standard is 10 business days. If you run into issues where your request hasn’t been met within 10 business days, please reach out to us at communications@cattle.ca and we will do our best to help you.
