In early December, the Canadian Cattlemen's Association (CCA) held an in-person Directors' meeting in Ottawa. While in Canada's capital, CCA held advocacy meetings to discuss the beef sector’s top priorities heading into the 44th Parliament. CCA hosted Federal Agriculture Minister, Marie-Claude Bibeau, at the Directors meeting, and also met with opposition party agriculture critics, other MPs and Senators in key portfolios connected to agriculture, trade and environment.
In addition to meetings, CCA held an inaugural breakfast with Parliamentarians who have been champions for agriculture to provide an update and further discuss priorities for the beef sector. At the breakfast, CCA premiered Guardians of the Grasslands for Parliamentarians in-person. Discussion with parliamentarians following the documentary were very positive with a flurry of social media engagement activity driving their constituents and policy influencers to watch the film online.
