Despite travel restrictions and work-from-home requirements CCA Ottawa staff are continuing to organize meetings to discuss priority files with our elected and appointed representatives in the House and Senate.
This spring, a series of provincial “fly-ins” are taking place. Thus far, Manitoba and Quebec directors and staff have met with parliamentarians regarding environmental initiatives, transportation, trade and continued funding for research.
A virtual fly-in with the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB) also took place recently. These meetings covered the important work CRSB is doing with respect to sustainable beef production in Canada and the ambitious goals CRSB has set for future work. Messages also included how the beef industry is well-positioned to contribute to a sustainable economic recovery.
We are grateful for the time CCA representatives devote to coordinating and participating in these meetings, especially during a busy time of year. They are an important element of CCA’s advocacy. More to come on future fly-ins, including with our other provincial members!
