On August 12, 2021, the Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, the Honourable Marie-Claude Bibeau, launched a Call for Proposals for Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s $200 million On-Farm Climate Action Fund, a new fund under Agricultural Climate Solutions. The Government of Canada is seeking project ideas from potential delivery partners including producer groups and associations, commodity organizations, Indigenous groups, non-governmental organizations, provincial or territorial Crown corporations, and other organizations. Delivery partners will be required to redistribute the funds to producers to support the adoption of beneficial management practices in three identified areas:
nitrogen management;
cover cropping; and
rotational grazing practices.
On-farm actions within these three areas have shown strong potential to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions. Following the Government's Budget 2021 announcement, the Fund has been extended to 2024 to provide support for farmers adopting beneficial management practices in the three categories over two full growing seasons until 2024.
To request the Call for Proposal application form, please email aafc.acs-sac.aac@agr.gc.ca. The application process will run until September 26, 2021 at 11:59 PM PT.
