Farm Credit Canada launches a sustainability incentive for CRSB Certified beef producers

Updated: Oct 18, 2022

Have you claimed your sustainability incentive yet?

You may have seen a couple of weeks ago that Farm Credit Canada (FCC) has launched a sustainability incentive program to reward Canadian beef producers who are certified to the CRSB Certified program – audited to sustainability standards set by the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB).The incentive is available to Canadian beef producers who are FCC customers and CRSB Certified by one of CRSB’s Certification Bodies (Verified Beef Production Plus, Ontario Corn Fed Beef Quality Assurance Program - feedlots in Ontario, and Where Food Comes From Canada).

Eligible producers can learn more and apply online at fcc.ca. The incentive calculation will be based on a portion of their total owing for all lending with FCC excluding operating credit (FCC Crop Input and Credit Line) to a maximum payment of $2,000 in one year. For the life of the program, all CRSB certified FCC customers are eligible to re-apply for the incentive annually.

To learn more, you can read CRSB’s blog post about the announcement by clicking here.
