Impressive results for Cooking by Degrees campaign

CCA’s Public and Stakeholder Engagement, the Canadian Roundtable for Sustainable Beef (CRSB) and Canada Beef are excited to announce the impressive results from their public culinary and sustainability campaign. The “Cooking by Degrees” campaign, featured in the Star Metroland family of newspapers, includes 16 recipes submitted by university and college chefs, highlighting their favourite beef cut.

Each recipe is accompanied by an interview with the chef, outlining how they developed their menu item and their commitment to nutritious, quality, affordable Canadian food. Beef producer profiles from coast to coast round out each recipe and provide readers a snapshot into the lives of the farmers who produce their food.

The online campaign launched December 2nd and ran for several weeks through thestar.com websites, which has large readership in metropolitan cities across Canada. The results include a reach of over 125,000 people, 37,000 page views and an average click to read (CTR) percentage of 5.85 per cent - more than double the industry standard. The average reading time on each page was also longer than average, all indicating that the content was well received and captured the reader’s interest.
