Manitoba Beef Producers bring their 'AAA game' to Ottawa for spring fly-in meetings

Manitoba Beef Producers (MPB) delegates had an action-packed trip to Ottawa that included strategic meetings with Senators, Members of Parliament, and officials, as well as hosting a pub evening to connect in a more casual setting with Parliamentarians and staffers.

Key topics which were well received during meetings included emphasizing the importance of preserving native grasslands, discussing solutions to roadblocks in current free trade agreements, enhancements to business risk management (BRM) programs such as Livestock Price Insurance (LPI), environmental benefits of beef production, and other regional issues facing beef producers.

In the video below, CCA Board Member and MBP President, Matthew Atkinson, and his wife Kate, speak to the value of these fly-in meetings and debrief the highlights of their time in Ottawa.
